As a Night Chains executor, Lin comes across as a very introverted girl. She rarely communicates or cooperates with others and shows little emotional fluctuation. This isn't surprising in a group like Night Chains where many prefer working alone. Her exquisite albeit low-key fashion sense, her occasional emotional outbursts that startle those around her, and her calm demeanor when facing bloody scenes suggest that Lin is quite a unique girl.

In Night Chains, there are plenty of members who were born into martial arts families and mostly received methodical training from a young age, which naturally made their abilities strikingly different from those without that background. As a result, it's inevitable that some of them tend to look down on these less experienced martial artists.
But Lin had never once been underestimated this way. Although she also got into it late in life at around high school age, her mentor—addressed as 'Ms. Toki' by others—was fairly admired in Night Chains. Therefore, no one would disregard Lin's capability based on her unassuming exterior when she was the protégé who had earned Toki' approval. On top of that, Lin often gave it her all during training, not allowing herself to stop despite collapsing from fatigue and being covered in cuts and bruises. Her persistence in pushing herself to catch up with others was pretty much on an unimaginable level.
At present, she who has slowly grown stronger and become a stunner no longer bears any semblance to that unremarkable girl she used to be. Perhaps it is precisely because she longs to break away from the bitterness of being dismissed that she treats people's compliments like her saving grace, almost ceaselessly yearning for the attention of others.
On the Internet exists a pretty popular content creator who teaches others how to make bentos for one. Not only does her weekly tutorials include well-thought-out pairings and aesthetically appealing presentations, but her tone of voice is also always upbeat and adorable, earning her many fans. However, what people don't realize is the multiple other identities this adorable content creator has, such as a blogger who talks about cute accessories and a devoted fan of a particular romance comic...
It's already hard for anyone to connect the dots that these seemingly unrelated accounts are all run by one person, never mind figure out that this girl, who's known to be vibrant and adorable in the online world is, in fact, someone who does covert work for Night Chains in real life. Likewise, people who know Lin in real life will 100% be baffled if they learn that she has such a lively personality online.
To Lin, it will be a disaster if anyone who knows her in real life discovers her online identities, which is why she often becomes flustered whenever someone praises her for her fast typing speed, as she fears she may inadvertently give herself away.
That said... if it's someone she's close to, Lin tends to secretly hope they will find out and admire her charm and yet also worries that such a stark contrast will cause them to view her differently. This dilemma has plagued her, persisting even to this day.
Lin was an extremely ordinary student in school and an extremely ordinary daughter at home. Yet, she was constantly reprimanded for this ordinariness. Although her parents' positions in the CoC weren't high, they did cross paths with people of different statuses over work matters, and this expansion of horizons kindled the yearning for a better future. Sadly, the best that the couple could do was probably just as employees of the CoC, which was why they placed all their hopes of moving up the social ladder onto their only daughter.
They kept wishing that their daughter could become more outstanding and distinguished. If Lin did not reach the standards they had for her, it meant that she must not have tried hard enough. Lin truly couldn't please her demanding parents with her limited capabilities and always had to hear them criticize her for being "so insensible despite our hard work." The sense of defeat and guilt over the years made the already introverted girl even more of a recluse. Gloomy, dull, and without any forte, she became someone overlooked by teachers and students in school. These dreary environments both at home and in school eventually led to her hearing things.
One day, after the end of the PE lesson, the health teacher of the school infirmary called out to Lin all of a sudden. This gentle, gorgeous teacher was especially popular among the students, so Lin was rather surprised.
"I noticed that you have some talent in martial arts. Will you be interested to learn from me?" asked the teacher with a smile.
This unexpected recognition, concern, and pat on the back that Lin had always longed for left her at a loss when they finally manifested, so much so that she fled like a coward. Right when she mulled it over while passing by the school's back alley, she chanced upon a scene that changed her life. Her gentle teacher was wielding a sword as a corpse lay by her feet, the corpse's bodily fluids slowly pooling on the ground...
Still, Lin did not tremble one bit, nor did she turn tail and run. The teacher who had long sensed Lin's presence handed the bloodied sword to the girl smilingly. Just like that, Toki took in the student she was most proud of.
When Lin first joined Night Chains, she immediately gave up her original, ordinary name and chose "Quill" as her code name. This was a choice initially made out of her admiration and envy of Toki, but as her abilities grew, she was no longer content to just be praised by her mentor, and neither did she wish to be forever inferior to Toki. Simply being a subservient feather was far from enough for her. After completing yet another critical mission, she changed her code name to "Lin" to start afresh with her own identity. Toki did not stop her protégé from doing so, nor did she remind Lin that the latter was becoming more and more like her unappeasable parents.
Outside of missions and filming, Lin is obsessed with all sorts of cute, intricate things, particularly Night Chains Land's mascot's plush toy series. Her collection can be said to be record-breaking, and it—alongside her exquisite appearance—is maintained with extraordinary effort. These adorable, sparkly things pile up to form a magical castle that lets her formerly frumpish, unconfident self hide and heal her wounds. Consequently, if anyone ever ruins her collection, they better prepare themselves to face a virtually hysterical, unhinged Lin.
In contrast to her love for plush toys, Lin will pretty much go to any lengths at all costs while on missions. She neither fears blood nor minds tainting herself from head to toe. However, the one thing she's afraid of is anything frail and alive, for that will jog back memories of the old her who would be helpless about everything in her surroundings. No matter how much effort it will take, Lin is willing to do it all so long as she never has to return to the time before she obtained her powers.
Lin. That's my name... Um, that's about it...
Why does Conductor always need someone to accompany you? Being alone with someone makes me nervous... B-But I didn't say I hate it, as it's better than being ignored... Ah, I apologize if I'm over-thinking...
I'll do my part. It's just that I prefer to prove myself through actions... So, please try not to talk to me too much, okay?
Eh, the hair accessory is a bit crooked... Okay, fixed now. You must pay attention to appearances, or some would laugh behind your back...
Conductor seems to know more about the internet than I thought. But anyway, the internet is very convenient, right? It should also help with Conductor's work.
Let's try seafood for the next tutorial. What to go with it... Hmm, I'm just thinking out loud, so please don't mind me.
Sorry to bother you, Conductor. Question... um, how's my new hairstyle?... Huh, very dignified? N-No! It's pointless if it's not cute!
Ahhh... It's happening again. It's happening again... Don't know how many times I've completely misunderstood the romantic pairing in a shojo manga. The chemistry between my preferred pairings was great until a few chapters ago!
I'm satisfied with my current life. Before joining Night Chains... there's nothing good about it. I absolutely don't want to go back to that... featureless, unnoticed state... I've had enough.
...Actually, I can teach you how to make a bento, Conductor. Think of it as a rehearsal for filming, besides... you don't usually eat very healthily, right? I've been observing you.
In the past, when I saw criticism in the comments, I would be very upset and chang my profile picture to a black image before withdrawing from the internet to be sad alone... But a short while later, I would be unable to bear the loneliness and go online again. However! I rarely do that now!
This sword, "Soul Scatter" is a gift from my teacher and a very important weapon. Can it ward off ghosts?... I utterly hate the topic of ghosts, alright? Super hate it.
Did you notice my bag today, Conductor?! Right, it's a collaboration with Night Chains Land mascot, Lunette. It's super cute! I tried it on as soon as I got it... well, does it suit me?
I do livestreams occasionally and create videos... occasionally... Oh, speaking of which, is Conductor that fan...? I-I doubt. Am I being presumptuous, but—eh—
Self-introductions are pointless...
My clothes and hair can't be messed up...!
I don't care how, but settle it ASAP.
Don't underestimate me...!
Souls be shattered!
No! No, no, no...!
Why did I fail here...?!
Thanks for all the support. I'm incredibly thrilled! Yay! Aaaaah! I accidentally entered work mode...
