It's easy for Rina Von to come across as a powerful figure, given that she works for the Citadel, well-versed in various organizations' intelligence, and can provide rare social data. However, she claims recording such information is just a hobby and discourages exaggeration of her abilities. Though not a workaholic, Rina Von is a reliable doer, always completing tasks systematically.
Rina Von has a special talent—collecting and organizing information since she was a child. After passing the exam to join Source Citadel's academic society, she was officially an undergraduate, and she quickly formulated a life plan with the goal of becoming a scribe of the Citadel's Fabricate upon getting her hands on internal information about the Citadel. Rina Von's presence in the Citadel indeed marginally increased the organization process of their extensive and complicated data, giving those abstruse information more accurate categorizations.
But at the same time, her meekness became problematic, for she who didn't know how to say no to others often felt compelled to work non-stop whenever people eagerly requested her aid. Her days then turned into a cycle of unending overtime work.
Because of her sterling image and the fact that she's one of the rare few regular persons in the Citadel, Rina Von is frequently entrusted with tasks concerning external liaisons, which means she's always sent on last-minute business trips. She can't help but cry each time her vacation plans are messed up. Still, with excellent benefits from the Citadel, she has grown to adapt to such a lifestyle and can pretty much take anything in stride.
In spite of her mild, serene temperament and cultured vibe that's similar to Valentine's, Rina Von is, in actuality, a total outdoorsy person who loves traveling and has always thought of finding the wonders of foreign places as one of her life goals. In her opinion, having a long bath after a day of sightseeing and admiring sceneries is basically the best way to have a holiday. Sadly, her never-ending workload has caused her to postpone her much-anticipated travel plans over and over again as she comforts herself with all kinds of excuses. On the bright side, her job scope in the Citadel does fit her passion, so at least it isn't all that miserable.
Rina Von, as a mature adult with an extraordinary temperament, is the object of Fenia's fascination. The girl's instinctive tailing behavior had, for a time, made Rina Von think she was being stalked, which sparked off a little chaos in the Citadel at the time. Thankfully, the misunderstanding was quickly resolved, and facing the slightly uneasy Fenia, Rina Von proposed a deal—she would teach Fenia "the self-restraint of adults" in exchange for the right to rub the cheeks of the girl, who was constantly following her around, as a unique destressing method.
Since the first month Rina Von joined the Citadel, she had been drawing up vacation plans for "when she took a break from work," but this wish still had yet to fully come true even after she registered and became part of The Eternal's crew. Although she did get to travel a few times during some short breaks, they all either required her to work remotely, be continuously on calls, or the Citadel would summon her back urgently before she even arrived at her destination. She no longer even remembers when was the last time she went on a real holiday.
Her friends had provided Rina Von suggestions, hoping she could learn to say no and speak out when she had too much on her plate... but she remained swamped with work despite putting these suggestions to practice, probably because she just had too strong a sense of responsibility.
"At the end of the day, the Citadel's work is endless, and the operation of a 'Save-the-World' organization is also incredibly complex. To fulfill my dream of becoming a Fabricate scribe and to make use of m-my value as an undergraduate... I have to work even harder!"
"But at the rate you're working overtime, you'll die before your dreams are realized, young lady."
After Rebis bluntly pointed that out, Rina Von began studying all types of health supplements, tonics, and even the recently trending "Urban Beauty Professional Healthcare Set" when she wasn't working. Apparently, one pill of it, and you'll be brimming with energy enough to get back to work.
Compared with the other crew members who work full-time for The Eternal, Rina Von is partly responsible for her own stress. To illustrate, if there isn't much difference in salaries, the majority of people will likely choose the more relaxing job with more days off, but Rina Von tenaciously refuses to resign from the Citadel and would rather spend all that effort going back and forth.
Just what is it about the Citadel's work that she can't bear to leave behind? Most people won't understand it, but this is self-evident for the others in the Citadel. The pursuit of knowledge, rescuing others, and keeping the fire of hope alive for the world all sound conceptual but are, in fact, the ultimate goals of a significant number of people in the Citadel; Rina Von is no exception.
Aside from clerical work, she will also leave Senanonic to go on combat missions as a member of the Destroyer from time to time. Combat missions are not only tough but also extra dangerous. However, this helps Rina Von understand what and who exactly her work is for. Whenever she sees the lives of people who got help becoming better and better and the wounded rescued from dangerous regions gradually recovering, it fills her with motivation to keep doing what she does.
If just the effort of one person is sufficient to make such tremendous changes in the world around her, Rina Von reckons she's all right with working this way all her life! But from her friends' perspective, they likely still hope that she can rest awhile before jumping back to work.
I'm Rina Von from the Citadel. Dispatched here to help... Um, is it true that you clock out on time here...?
I get uneasy if my break time is too long, haha... Ah, no, no! Of course breaks are good!
I'm good at memorizing things like social organization structures. But I'm often told they are useless things...
Before joining the Citadel, I was just an employee... I thought a change of environment would let me relax... Sigh...
The pay at the Citadel is pretty good. It's just that the business system is somewhat... how should I put it, overly harsh...
Huh!? An entire hour of lunch break!? Does that mean I can go to my favorite restaurant?
When I was a student, I was once obsessed with philosophy. Things like empiricism, existentialism, and the likes. I was mistakenly regarded as a remarkable talent...
To think I can actually enjoy such marvelous tea during office hours... Back at my previous company, the most I got was nutritional supplements.
Yeah... There was once a time when I planned to travel during a long vacation, but was recalled by the company urgently to work overtime... Gosh...
I've planned a "virtual trip" for myself. It happens tomorrow~ — It's just watching travel videos while indulging in good food~ Haha~
...Even though I haven't been taking health supplements or energy drinks lately, my physical condition is unusually good. Why is that?
Um, Conductor... Do you have any plans during the next holidays? Want to check out that scenic spot that was very popular recently...?
Ah — Working on The Eternal is so comfortable that I had trouble adjusting to being recalled to the Citadel.
Since coming here, I've been able to clock out on time every day. I even feel guilty about it... No, of course I should feel fortunate!
Huh?! I-I have to join the combat too?!
T-There's even defeat compensation?! Are the benefits that great here?!
God, this job is killing me...
D-Don't come over!
U-Um... Can I be on the defense?
See, told you I'd definitely lose...
Ah...! Being hospitalized means a break from work...
Really? I'm the MVP? Teehee.... W-What? I have to do this again?! Aaaaaaah!
